We painted our landscapes using tempera paint in warm and cool colors. The sky and water were painted the first day, mountains and trees the next, and the trunks and branches of the trees were last. Trees are in the foreground, water in the middle ground, and mountains in the background. Thanks to Painted Paper for the fun project! Artist Inspiration: Georgia O'Keefe

2nd Grade students started with a piece of tin foil to create a form of a person and manipulated the arms and legs to show movement. The next art class, we paper mached to create a hard and paintable surface. Students made it look more realistic by adding paint and a base. This was the second time this class has used paper mache and they did an excellent job smoothing out the surface. Great Job, second graders! Lesson idea from 2 Peas and a Dog First Grade students created a self-portrait using tempera paint, Sharpies, and chalk pastels. Each one is unique--just like them.                    You are invited to come to the steamroller event from 10:30-11:30 am this Saturday, October 24 at the Galvin Fine Arts Center (map below). See the 5th grade students ink their linoleum and watch the big drum roller print it!
